The average net worth of households in Canada reached $1,026,205 during 2024. Most of the growth in Canadian household wealth was fueled by gains made in the stock market. Canadian households in the 55-64 age range had the highest average net worth in 2024 at $1,496,523, followed by those in the 45-54 age range ($1,236,357), 65+ age range ($1,228,870), 35-44 age range ($759,525), and households under 35 years of age ($413,594). British Columbia was the wealthiest Canadian province at the end of 2024, with an average household net worth of $1,239,758, followed by Ontario ($1,218,746), Alberta ($973,210), Saskatchewan ($881,092), Quebec ($783,484), Manitoba ($781,353), Prince Edward Island ($708,797), Nova Scotia ($692,422), Newfoundland & Labrador ($687,919), and New Brunswick ($512,270).
