The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards named Victoria, British Columbia, as the world’s #1 best small city for 2025, based on the feedback from 757,109 of its readers who participated in a recent global survey. Victoria, which is the provincial capital of British Columbia, is known as the most ‘British’ Canadian city, home to picturesque Victorian architecture, beautiful gardens, and a short distance from tranquil forests. Additionally, Vancouver, British Columbia, was ranked as the #7 best big city in the world for 2025, while Montreal, Quebec, was rated as the #9 best big city internationally. Vancouver is the largest city in British Columbia, boasts a diverse population, has easy access to outdoor scenery, and is considered a top food city. Montreal is the biggest city in French-speaking Quebec province, famous for its quaint Old Montreal district, art museums, and range of dining options. This was the 38th annual CN Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, which also asked survey participants to rank their favorite countries, resorts, and other travel-related categories. Canada was ranked #10 in the survey, after #1 Japan, #2 Greece, #3 Portugal, #4 Italy, #5 Spain, #6 Turkey, #7 Ireland, #8 Croatia, and #9 France.
